2. What data we process and why

• Contact (email, phone, WhatsApp): name, contact details, message content.
  Purpose: handling enquiries, providing offers.
  Legal basis: steps prior to entering into a contract or legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) or (f)).
• Contract / sale: billing data (name, address, VAT number if applicable).
  Purpose: contract performance and invoicing.
  Legal basis: contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)) and legal obligation (accounting) (Art. 6(1)(c)).

3. Retention

• Enquiries: up to 12 months.
• Billing records: up to 8 years as required by law.

4. Transfers & processors

We may share data to the extent necessary with:

• Hosting provider – to operate the website.
• Email/communication providers (e.g. email, phone, WhatsApp) – to handle your messages. When you use WhatsApp, processing is also subject to WhatsApp/Meta’s own terms.
• Authorities – where required by law.

5. Cookies

This website currently does not use non-essential cookies (no Google Analytics/remarketing, no embedded YouTube/Maps). If this changes, we will update this Policy.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability. Please contact us at melany@bengalcat.hu. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority in the EU (in Hungary: Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH): naih.hu).
